Instructions

Intro - World Cup is a mouse driven football manager game in which you
have to get one of the four teams to the world cup and even win it.

Diary - The diary shows you what to do each day. Click on the month for
the months page. Next years dairy can be obtained by clicking on the
year.

Group - Shows the world cup table, two qualify and there is two points
for a win and one for a draw. If it is tied at the end goal difference
will be used, your team will qualify if there is an absolute tie. The
top team qualifies as a number one seed and second place as a number two
seed.

Stats - Shows you various stats, including morale, and the tables for
the triangular cup.

Squad - You must pick a squad of 20 players (2 keepers, 7 defenders,
6 midfielders and 5 forwards>. Click on GK, Def, Mid or For, for a list
of players. There are two lists for each position except Goalkeepers and
Welsh forwards, click on more for second list. Click on the player
required and then on a squad space.

Read Me - Includes some of these instructions

Scout - To get a match report click on one of the abbreviations for
team required.

Pick Game - To choose a team to play a friendly against click on the
team require and home or away.

Disk - saves, loads or shows memory and disk space. Call all files an
eight (or less) letter word with the extension Fot.
   Eg England.fot

Make sure the disk is write unprotected (Closed)
There is disk space of over 2500
The file name is correct

Due to the limitations of STOS if there is one of these disk
errors twice then the program will crash.

Morale goes up on when you win and down one if you lose, if it reaches
0 you will be sacked. If you don't qualify you will be sacked.

You have the choice of four teams. The easiest to qualify go in the
following order Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland.

When the days business has been completed or to play a game click on
next day.

Picking the best team - The results are worked out by a combination of
caps, skill and age. The average player has form seven (Form fluctuates
for most players each month). If a player has less than 10 caps he loses
the team some strength, an uncapped player exaggerates the effect.
Players with over 40 caps increases the teams strength. Old players
weaken the team also. It is a good idea to give inexperienced players
caps in friendlies and easy games. Some senior players may retire before
the world cup so make sure there is adequate cover.

Injured players have zero form, players get injured at the beginning
of the month and after withdrawals.

On the pick team page pick a tactics and then 11 of the squad, if a
mistake is made click on undo at the end.

There are two programs USA.Prg and Finals.Prg. USA.prg is the one for
the qualifiers, it must be run from an Auto folder, and Finals.Prg is
for the Final stages. On the 31st May 1994 after picking the squad you
will be requested to save the game, do this and load it up on the
FInals.Prg.
