  **********************************

EXPLANATION : This programme loads
a picture of your choosing and turns
it into a jigsaw puzzle of 50 pieces.
The program works in both low and
high resolutions on either:
 degas (.PI1 and .PI3), or
neochrome (.NEO low res only) files.
If you have other pictures in other
formats you would have to convert
them to the above formats prior to
use. There are programmes available
which will do this for many picture
file types.

WARNING : For some reason this
program doesn't like exiting if you
don't have the original program disk
in the drive. It bombs otherwise.
This is usually no big deal, as you
have finished playing and can easily
reboot BUT if you have precious stuff
stored on a RAM disk or your multi-
tasking please beware.
(If any STOS programmers out there can
shed some light on this I'll be most
grateful.)

  **********************************

TECHNICAL: This programme is produced
in STOS basic.

  **********************************

GETTING STARTED:

  I suggest reserving an entire
double-sided floppy disc especially
for JUMBLEUP, and copying the files
JUMBLEUP.PRG,JUMBINFO.TXT and PICTURE
folder with your picture files in it
into the root directory of the disc.
If you want the programme to run
automatically when the computer
is reset or switched on, simply create
a folder called auto, using the GEM
desktop new folder facility, and copy
JUMBLEUP.PRG into that folder.
 (This avoids young children having
   to fiddle with the desktop)

Double click on JUMBLEUP.PRG to get
the program to load (or reset if its
in the AUTO folder)

  **********************************

HAVING FUN! :

You will be presented with a file
selector box which you use to select
the required drive\folder\file.
Click on return and wait for the
picture to display itself.

RIGHT CLICK and HOLD on the mouse
to view the picture as it should be.
The scrambled picture returns as
soon as the button is released.

LEFT CLICK and HOLD to select a
puzzle piece and move it around the
screen. RELEASE the button when you
think the piece is in the right spot.
If the piece is correctly placed the
piece that was there first will be
moved to where your piece came from.
(i.e. the two pieces will be swapped)

If the choice is incorrect the
chosen piece will return to its
original position.

When the picture is all sorted out
the computer rings the bell and
awaits a mouse click to go to the
file selector again.

Quitting from the fileselector box
ends the program.

BOTH BUTTONS of the mouse may be
clicked simultaneously to get out
of the puzzle. You will be asked
to confirm your intention y/n with
no carriage return required. You
will then be asked if you wish to
Quit or do a new Picture q/p.
Anything other than 'q' will take
you back to the file selector.
