I...INTRODUCTION
================

This new, original program was originally written for two reasons: 1)To teach
me Personal Pascal (it was my first program in pascal) and 2)For my family;
they love JEOPARDY! and can't get enough of it. I had no intention of
writing it for Public Domain, and this is because of one major drawback
of the program: IT DOES NOT RUN ITSELF, AND NEEDS AN MC TO GIVE THE
QUESTIONS (ANSWERS) TO THE ANSWERS (QUESTIONS)!!! You see, I did not need
to program a complicated text parser for the entering of questions, because
I was the one who had to write the games themselves, and besides, both parents
are computer illiterate and flinch if my ST happens to beep at them.

So, this program does everything but give the questions to the answers. I am
very proud of it, and am pleased to share it with my fellow STers. Oh yes,
one more thing...MONOCHROME ONLY! Sorry, but this was necessary to fit the
entire screen in the way I wanted it. I have placed these two warnings on
the description of the file, and those are the only two things that you
have to worry about. If you have a mono monitor, and you are willing to MC for
two or three of your friends, then you will find this program a pleasure to
play, and a faithful reproduction of the TV gameshow.

II...GAME FILES
===============

Each game file is unfortunately about 30K long, and includes 3 parts: Single
Jeopardy, Double Jeopardy and Final Jeopardy. When running the JEOPARDY!
game, the program will ask you to load in a file. All three files will have
the same number, and they will be coded A, B and F (I.E. Game one has the
following filenames: GAME1A.JPD, GAME1B.JPD and GAME1F.JPD). After loading
in the file you wish to play, choose Single, Double or Final in the dialog
box, depending on the file you have just loaded. At some point in the
future, I intend to try to compress the files, especially the Final Jeopardy
file, which is mostly empty. Any suggestions are welcome.

The game file also comes complete with question files, containing the MC's
information. These files should either be printed out, or (sigh) copied if
you don't have a printer (it's not too bad, just 50 or so words per file).
The question files follow the game format: QUEST1A.TXT and QUEST1B.TXT. The
second file will also have the Final Jeopardy question on it.

Included in the initial package is Game 1, complete. In the very near future,
depending on the response I get to this game, many more game files will be
released, each carefully put together by yours truly (and hopefully correct!)

III...PLAYING JEOPARDY!
=======================

After loading in the game file you want to play, the initial screen will
come up, showing the game board (or in the case of Final Jeopardy, an ellipsoid
telling you that it is Final Jeopardy...we'll get to that in a bit). Clicking
the left mouse button ONCE will bring up the six categories at the top of
the screen. At this point the MC would make sure the players know all of the
categories. For Single Jeopardy, a random player has first pick of the
board. For Double Jeopardy, the player with the lowest amount of money has
first pick. Players should either keep track of their money with pencil
and paper, or be given play money by the MC.

The player whose turn it is now tells the MC which category to choose and
the dollar amount they wish to play for. The higher the dollar amount, the
harder the answer. The MC (or the player) can now click the LEFT button
ONCE to reveal the answer, which will pop up on the screen. The answer really
is an answer, to which the players are required to supply the question. At
this point, the first player to respond (clicking a clicker, slapping the
table
