The HCPEDEMO Files
HCPEDEMO.PRG and HCPEDEMO.RSC demonstrate virtually every facet of the ST game
program HOME CASINO POKER ETC.
Load HCPEDEMO.PRG as you would any other program file. Like the latest version
of HOME CASINO POKER ETC, it runs in either color or monochrome. With a color
monitor, you can load it from either a low-resolution or a medium-resolution
desktop. HCPEDEMO.RSC contains data necessary to the operation of the program
and must be on the same disk.
After the title screen appears, you can get into the program by pressing a
joystick button or the Help key. DO NOT USE THE MOUSE; IF THE MOUSE IS
CONNECTED, IT SHOULD BE LEFT ALONE. If the title screen is left on display long
enough, the program will automatically go into a Stud Poker demonstration. If
this happens, you can return to the title screen by pressing any key.
Be sure to read and follow the on-screen instructions. Most important are the
menu instructions, which appear each time you change menus. Menu operation is
simple. Use up/down arrow keys or joystick movements to move the pointer up or
down the menu. To press a menu button or bar, press the Help key or joystick
button. TO SEE AN EXPLANATION OF A MENU ITEM, PRESS THE LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW OR
MOVE THE JOYSTICK LEFT OR RIGHT. Be sure to take advantage of this feature.
And be aware that some menus have more items than you can see at one time.
There are five games to choose from: Draw Poker, 5-Card Stud, 6-Card Stud,
7-Card Stud and 21 (Blackjack). All games accommodate one, two, three or four
players. Select any number you wish, even if you're alone, because the computer
does all the playing in this demo. A wealth of other options are at your
fingertips. Try them all to get a complete picture of the program.
The computer takes over when you press the PLAY bar in one of the game menus.
In most cases the game will continue until you stop it by pressing the Escape
key or one of the ST's 10 function keys (F1-F10). A Stud Poker game will end
automatically if all players go broke except one.
If you would like to try your own hand at playing the program's games, look for
HOME CASINO POKER ETC at your local software store or order it directly from
Dubl Dubl Funware. For your convenience, this document contains an order form
which you can print out or copy.
