EVADER 1.1 (c) 1992 DSA
PUBLIC DOMAIN VERSION - DECEMBER 1992

 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
This version of EVADER can be freely passed to all Atari ST users. BUT
PLEASE make sure that this DOC file is also included.
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Section 1: Booting the game.

First off please make sure there is a folder on the root directory of your
floppy or hard disk called . Next make sure you copy the
 EVADER.TOS file into this folder.

NOTE: Failure to insure that the EVADER folder is NOT within another
folder will surely display a nice error when properly executed.

 First time exectution:

When you run EVADER for the first time it will create a data file
that is around 60k in length. After this file is created it will not
have to create it again the next time you play. Make sure your disk is
 NOT WRITE PROTECTED.

EVADER should be booted from the low res desktop. Simply open the folder
and double click your mouse on EVADER.TOS. After a slight whirl
of the disk you should be greeted by the main EVADER title screen.

 * NOTE: EVADER keeps track of your scores. The file is written everytime
you exit EVADER by pressing the key.

 Section 2: Playing the game.

EVADER is similar to other shoot-em-ups in that you have to blast nearly
anything that moves. Simply guide your craft by moving the joystick in
the desired direction. Pressing the fire button will launch your weapon.
Along the fight path you will be able to pickup new weapons and powerups.
There are 4 powerups per weapon. You start the game with shields at
full strength. With each contact with an alien ship or it's fire your
shields will be depleted. When all your shields are gone the game is over.

At anytime during the game you can press to exit back to the desktop.
Don't worry, unlike other games your old palette will be restored so that
you may run other programs without having to reboot. All of these options
are clearly displayed in the EVADER title screens.

As told from the title screens there is a freely available method of
advancing to the higher game levels. At anytime during the game you can
press to advance a level. While this is mainly used to let you view
the higher levels it does abort any chance of getting a high score.

Smoother game play: If your monitor or TV can handle 50hz video press
F9 during game play. This will cause the game to slow down to 25 frames
a second frame rate. This allows a smoother game play. To switch back
 to 60hz press F10.

Have fun and let me know what you think!
