Instructions - Attack of the Dangerous Alien Gun Turrets from Jupiter's Third Moon

Attack of the Dangerous Alien Gun Chris Parish
            --------------------------------- 1991
Turrets From Jupiter's Third Moon for ST User
            ---------------------------------

This is a game based on the classic eighties game, "Thrust". The
object of the game is, basically, to destroy.
On most levels there will be a single, green, rotating orb -
destroying this will enable you to complete the level. Some of
the later levels have more than one orb to destroy, and some have
many items of machinery or organic life to destroy. Only when
all of these have been destroyed will the level will be
completed. (Things to look out for are pistons, fountains, eyes,
mouths, flames etc.)
Some pieces of enemy equipment release money in the form of
credit spheres when shot. If this money is collected it will
enable your spaceship to be improved in the shop at the end of
every level. The additional weapons available are IncBullets -
which increases the amount of bullets which can be fired by one -
up to a maximum of four, Retros - which stop the ship dead by
reducing its speed to zero in all directions, Fuel - which
enables you to top up your tanks (Listen for the warning alarm
when you enter the shop which sounds if you are low on fuel),
BigBombs - which are big bombs which launch to the right of your
ship, AlienSeekers - which home in on any UFOs present on the
screen, ExBullets - which explodes your bullets in case you
missed on all four shots (Useless weapon!), ThruWall - which lets
your bullets penetrate thin walls, Shield - which causes a green
shield to envelope your spaceship and protects you from
collisions with anything except walls, ProtectOrb - which
continually swings around your ship destroying anything in its
way, Extralife - which gives you an errm... extra life?,
SmartBomb - which destroys all Gun Turrets on the screen and
Scoreconvert - which converts all your money into score at a
favourable exchange rate. When bought, these weapons can be
cycled through by moving down on the joystick and activated using
the SPACEBAR.
Ignore the cryptic equations underneath the shopkeeper, these are
designed for those of you who wish to use the keyboard controls
(Press F1 on the hiscore table to redefine these). Most people
will use the joystick - just press fire to query what the weapon
is and fire again to buy. Press the SPACEBAR to exit the shop.
Some levels are called bonus levels. On these levels, the status
display at the bottom of the screen will be replaced by a timer.
Once this timer reaches zero the level will end. In the meantime
you have half a minute to grab as much cash as you can. (Press
ESC to abort bonus levels if you're fed up with them. On normal
levels this aborts the whole game - so be careful.) No lives can
be lost on Bonus Levels so feel free to take any necessary risks
to get that cash.
So far the game sounds like any old shoot'em up. However, there
is a certain amount of skill to piloting the craft. This is where
the similarities to thrust come in.
