I get the impression that the Atari 5200, and especially its infamous controller, was designed around Missile Command, Centipede and Star Raiders. This is one of the essential showpiece titles for the system, and with the trackball controller, is nearly identical to the arcade.

Christmas 1982 introduced me to the 5200 with one sitting in the floor, in front of the TV, with a big red bow on it. Under the tree would be three more games with Missile Command being one of them. Over 30 years later and this game still holds its own. It's like Atari ripped the code right out of the arcade and put it in a cartridge. Combined with the Trak-Ball controller and the fun is excelled greatly. A pure blast to play!

This game, like Centipede 5200, is as close as you can get to the arcade experience...if you use the trak-ball. But even with the standard controller, it's very good indeed.
