Hands down one of the worst arcade conversions. Programmer Joe Tung completely failed with the sounds, and the erratic movement of the attacking galaxians ruins what made the arcade game so great. And fully supporting the analog controller only makes it less like the arcade game.

This is one of the more common titles for the 5200 and Galaxian is a fun space shooter. The 5200's analog controls give the player an added advantage when the time is taken to learn them. Some impressive missile-dodging moves can be made with practice. However this game is not perfect. The signature Galaxian is missing in this port and there are some minor collision detection issues sometimes but that shouldn't keep the player from enjoying the game.

It's fun to play this game with the 5200 controllers. They do add something to the experience. And the game looks and sounds very close to the arcade game. But, in the end, Galaxian isn't a very interesting game to me. So it's a solid title, and a must for people who enjoy arcade Galaxian, but there's nothing terribly compelling about it for the rest of us.
