Many pirated cartridge to file conversions are flawed. Cartridge emulation works great, but if you want to repair an old file, the sequence $"91 DD 60" needs to be either $"60 DD 60" or $"EA EA 60". This was copy protection by way of code worm. In the published cartridge, flight mission #1 is so simple it's practically a demo mode in which shuttle launches into orbit, rendezvous with satellite, then lands back on earth all by itself. When transfered from cartridge to file, the unmodified code prevents rendezvous and shuttle runs out of fuel in orbit without demoing the reentry and landing sequence. |
