I still remember the day when I made the transition from menu command DOS programs to SpartaDOS. I had newly installed U.S. Doublers on my 1050 Disk Drive, and was eager to get all cylinders rolling. It took me awhile to get used to the command line functions, but once I got used to it, it became second nature. I loved every moment of using it. I felt like it gave me greater command and control over my system that Atari DOS and MyDOS, et al, didn't offer. What is more important, however, is that when I migrated to using PC-based systems, I easily adapted to using MS-DOS. There were minor differences, but everything I learned on SpartaDOS, I figured out with MS-DOS in no time flat. Didn't even have to read a manual! :) |
