This game always felt like a work-in-progress than an actual release. With the sub par graphics and difficult playability, this seemed like a conversion done on the cheap and rushed out. One of the biggest annoyances is that you can't move and use your weapon at the same time. The blocky characters and simple background didn't do much in adding to the realism.
I'm assuming this game was done by some European company. With them, it was hit-or-miss. Sometimes you got something with brilliant graphics, sound, and play. Other times you had something like this!

The tape image does work in Atari 800 Win Plus if you disable the high speed IO patch. Then use the fast forward button to speed up loading. But strange that the loading screen says "Press fire to start" but that is probably because the loading screen is the same as the title screen.

Is it me or does this conversion feel unfinished and buggy ? Unplayable ? It's not surprising that this kind of adaptation gave the Atari 8Bit a bad reputation versus the C64 during the eighties. Nah... We'll let history decide !

| | Other version with the same title:
Hit Squad (The).
As the original tape image doesn't seem to work properly with emulators, we are providing a cracked file version as well.
