I got this game by the time I was finishing the elementary school (or starting high-school immy after that - ?), from our users group, and it was a rip of an XEGS cartridge one of the members bought while visiting Germany. I'm not sure how he managed to put the contents of the cartridge onto a diskette, but we were all glad he did so.
This game was and still is just GREAT!!! I liked its predecessor already, Dandy, but this one took it to the next level, in terms of graphics, gameplay and overall atmosphere. You really feel you are in the dungeon, fighting all the abominations, and a certain feeling of claustrophobia sets in slowly, especially if you play the game alone at night, with the lights off.. :-)
LbnL, I consider this game vastly better and appealing than the much-lauded Gauntlet, which I could never find a true liking to - it looked quite ugly and played sluggishly. I sort-of liked it on other platforms (like the C64), but still, it was fun in with two players only. |
