Waha, good memories about Kyan Pascal ! Back in the day we had stupid PC's with floppy drives at school and we had to learn to program in Pascal because it was "structured". On an open day, we were allowed to bring our home machines. Our teacher said they were nothing compared to the "power" of the "real" PC's, so I challenged him to type in the same PASCAL program on "his" PC and I on my 130XE and link and compile it and run it and see which system would be faster. Of course I didn't tell him that I had stored EVERYTHING on the 130XE's Ram-disk and he was flabbergasted when I was already running the program while his compiler was still loading from floppy (there was NO HD in the PC's ;) ). I was laughing out loud at him and so were my class-mates... I never used PASCAL after school....does it even exist still today ? It was way too limited IMHO. |
