Instructions - STe Demo

The results are finally in, the votes have been tabulated and
we have a winner for the STE demo contest!!

Our objective was to provide our dealers (and STE owners) with lots of
demo programs to bring out the capabilities of the hardware.
Lots of colors, hardware scrolling, DMA sound, would be just the ticket
for the uninitiated as well as the 'older' generation Atarian.

Now for the winners: Third place was a prize of a Lynx game
system but since there was a tie for second place, the Lynx wasn't
given out. Instead, both second place winners receive a MegaSTE 4/50
system with color monitor. The grand prize is a TT030 8/50 with a
color monitor.

From Norway came the ProTracker demo from Karl Anders Oygard. This
was a graphical sound player for the music writing program Protracker.
Also tied for second was Brien King and Cory Chapman of Arizona, who
showed us a display of the STE's power with a sight and sound arcade
demonstration.

After many entries one demonstration showed the most potential to
satisfy our main objective. Arvin Castillo and Noel Saw of California
came up with a demo fully showing the STE's hardware features in a
walk through fashion providing an eyecatching and informative
presentation to a potential buyer.

The competition was very tough between the entrants and we'd like to
thank everyone for their participation!

Trivia - STe Demo

Origins
This demo placed first on Atari Corp.'s Atari Computer Demo Contest 1991 where the main objective was to build a shop window capable demo to help dealers to show off the new Atari STe hardware capabilities.
