Introduction
------------

This file is meant to be a quick reference guide to creating and using profiles in the Astrology program. The title is fairly comprehensive (complex?) and not very clear regarding data inputs. However, it does seem to do a good job of checking data input and verifying with the user that it is correct.

Boot the disk with BASIC, type RUN"D:ASTR at the prompt and press RETURN.

The main menu presents you with seven options:
- 1-5 are various horoscopes and readings
- 6 lists the saved profiles on the disk in "NUMBER, NAME" format
- 7 is obvious

Adding a profile
----------------

The program allows you to store data for nine different people on the disk. To add a person's profile, select options 1, 2 or 3. You will then be asked to enter a file number (1-9) or "NAME". At this point, you can return to the main menu by pressing RETURN if you prefer.

(1) Type the full name of the person you want to add and press RETURN. The program will prompt you to verify the data. Press Y if correct or N to change.
(2) The next prompt is "DATE (M,D,Y)?" which is the person's birthdate. You can enter it with commas - "11,9,75" or "11,09,1975" for instance. The program will interpret it and ask you to confirm. Similarly, if you only enter "11" and hit RETURN, you will be prompted with a "?" where you can then enter the day then year.
(3) Now enter the time you were born. Example: if you were born at 3:30 pm, enter "3,30,PM". The program will ask you to verify that the data is correct.
(4) Next is the time zone of the city / state you were born in. The program gives examples for Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones. Example: if you were born in California, type "8".
(5) The program now asks if "DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME" or "WAR TIME" were in effect when you were born. DST was originally called War Time. Google it :)
(6) The next two prompts will request the latitude and longitude in "DEGREES, MINUTES" format. The program is asking for the coordinates of where you were born. You can Google the city, state, coordinates. For example, entering "Topeka Kansas coordinates" in Google tells you "39.0473 N, 95.6752 W". The first number is the latitude: 39.0473. Enter "39,0473". Now enter the longitude: "95,6752".
(7) The program will now ask if you want this profile saved. Press "Y" to do so.
(8) Finally, the program will prompt you for a file number (1-9). Enter the one you want. If you try to save the profile to a number that has already been created, you will get an error and be prompted to choose another file number.

Remember, you can check what file numbers / profiles you have created using option "6" from the main menu.

After creating profiles, you can check horoscopes or compatibilty tests just by selecting that person's file number.
